Pizza For The People announce Indie Banquet XIII
Leeds promoters Pizza For The People have announced the next in their long running series of ‘Indie Banquets’ – a celebration of the best new music and the best food around, this time taking place at the city’s Hyde Park Book Club venue on the 17th August.
Joining Pizza For The People at the next Indie Banquet will be South-London punks Talk Show, a fast-rising quartet who have recently signed to Yala! Records having got the attention of The Maccabees’ Felix White. Performing alongside them will be Brighton based psychedelic post-punk quartet Egyptian Blue, Leeds’ L.D. Moses, furious Leeds trio The Shakamoto Investigation and Hull four-piece Autosuggestion.
For the 14th Indie Banquet, Pizza For The People will be returning to Hyde Park Book Club. Not only home to one of the best small venues in the city, Hyde Park Book Club are renowned for their amazing kitchen. At the Indie Banquet they’ll be serving up their delicious vegetarian and vegan food featuring burgers and hot dogs from The Vegetarian Butcher. They will also be joined by a 2nd food trader TBC.
Started in 2016 by Ryan Morgan and Julia King, Pizza For The People have been running their Indie Banquets in venues across the city ever since. Matching line ups of the most exciting new bands with the best food vendors around, Pizza For The People have played host to artists like Warmduscher, Drahla, Gengahr, The Orielles, Kagoule, Lumer and Trudy & The Romance matched the likes of What’s Your Beef, Mio Pizza, The Pizza Guy, VFC, Pizza Fella, Golden Balls, The Yorkshire Pizza Company and Little Bao Boy.
On this new event co-founder Ryan Morgan said: “Indie Banquet XIV is a line-up that we are incredibly excited about, with lots of upcoming talent on the bill. Bringing not one but two Yala Records releases to the bill, Talk Show & Egyptian Blue are joined by a host of local gems - L.D Moses, The Shakamoto Investigation & Autosuggestion and promises to be a great night of music to wet any appetite.”
